Memoir of a Black Eyed Pea

Exciting news – here’s the official news of my latest project as a ghost, as announced in a press release issued by the publisher:

“Publisher Simon & Schuster, New York, NY, has announced that Taboo – MC, dancer, actor and member of the six times Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum group The Black Eyed Peas – has signed up to write his memoir, FALLIN’ UP

Taboo shares the inspirational story of his successful rise from the largely Hispanic East LA projects to the heights of international fame in the memoir written with Steve Dennis, and signed by Touchstone Vice President and Publisher, Stacy Creamer.

Touchstone, a division of Simon & Schuster, will publish in February 2011 prior to the kick off of the second leg of the Black Eyed Peas world tour, The E.N.D.

Taboo said: “Fallin’ Up is a memoir of my life to this point. My hope is to inspire young people everywhere to always work hard and reach for their dreams and to not let anything stand in their way.”

Stacy Creamer added: “Taboo’s commitment to dreaming big dreams and getting them realized – despite impossible odds and multiple forces working against him – immediately attracted me to his story. His aggressive optimism is inspiring – and as catchy as Boom, Boom, Pow. I couldn’t be more pleased to be publishing his deeply personal, deeply affecting memoir”

In FALLIN’ UP, Taboo chronicles how—through determination, perseverance, belief in himself, and with the constant support of his grandmother—he was able to make it despite a host of obstacles as not only part of the mega-popular Black Eyed Peas but also as a father, a husband, and a man.
